Matthew 9:14 - But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Baptism in our church is a very serious and important sacrament. Coming to Sunday services before and after baptism is expected to be a part of the life of the child being baptized and their family.
By accepting your child to be baptized, you are asking for them to be part of the living body of Christ. As they grow physically and spiritually, the church is the soil that the child needs in order to grow in their faith.
As no one would plant a tree and then rip it out of the soil, having a baptism only starts your child's journey to Christ and requires participation in Christ's Church to continue growing towards salvation.
Our faith is not an insurance policy but lived through our faith and participation in the living body of Christ as expressed in The Church. As no one would buy a car and never drive it, the value of the baptism for your child is the beginning of their Christian journey that culminates in Salvation in Jesus Christ.
In life we get more out of something the more we put into it. I pray you will take this sacrament seriously and will use it as a launching board if needed for your lives in Christ's Church, and not take your child away from Christ soon after they are received by Him.
We give our children the best of everything and I pray God will bless and enlighten your family on this spiritual journey that lasts a lifetime in The Church. Christ's Church is where God dwells with us and gives us what we need in each of our steps towards salvation.
